The Inner Spread: Less Woo, More You

Today was a big tarot day. Well, big esotarot day. I got my first professional natal chart reading by Luke Bonecutter (www.instagram.com/mysticbardlux or www.mysticbardlux.com) and whoa Betty was it fun. I’m stellium heavy in my 12th house, ya’ll. And as far as I could tell this basically meant I was destined to end up incarcerated (too late), toothless, and without love. Being that I’ve already accomplished 2 out of the 3 I felt sure that the 3rd wasn’t far off.

Luke set me straight and helped me see that my Leo ruled 12th house of the unconscious, dreams, daemon (I am not even making this up), intuition, darkness, and hidden things having the Sun, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Ceres, and Fortuna in it, is actually kinda punk rock.

I spent a lot. Like a lot, a lot, of my life in shame and self-sabotage. Honestly, a good 20 years, give or take. But that person I was, doesn’t even exist anymore. I had to live in Grandma’s junk drawer of the 12th house so that I could learn the lessons of the 12th house…compassion, ego-destruction, transcendence. Not exactly in that order.

So that was this morning.

This afternoon I had a Halloween practice session with the Tarot Mystic Academy bunch. We did a spread about releasing what isn’t serving us. In a surprising synchronicity, all 3 of us pulled the 9 of Swords in our readings. The description of the layout is below. My reading basically said that I am spreading myself too thin with all my books that I am CURRENTLY reading (literally 30 active books at this time), and that to progress on my spiritual journey I need to focus so I can best learn what I want to learn. The final card of the reading was 6 of Wands with me being all triumphant and shit. Focused. With one, count ‘em, ONE, book.

So that was this afternoon.

Shelli, my Biddy Buddy from Biddy Tarot did a new moon spread that was very similar to the Ghost’s Ball below. Guess what card she pulled for me? 9 of Swords. Big 9 of Swords energy today. But not in the way that is most likely to spring to mind……anxiety, grief, nightmares. It was really more about that disruptive, warrior, Mars energy influencing the intellectual energy of Gemini. I’m digging the complexity that astrology is giving to my tarot readings. Thanks Joe Monteleone!

And I think this is where I’ll end my very firstest blog post on The Inner Spread.
